Welcome to Cottage Finds Floral & Fine Decor, my New York based floral design company, established in 2019.  

As an independent floral designer, I strive to grow and evolve creatively through my customer’s personal experience with flowers.  I’ve always been inspired by the relationship between nature and art. It is through nature, that artists throughout the centuries have been bringing their creations to life.  Flowers can tell a story about almost anything or anyone.  Each color, shape, and texture, expresses a different emotion.  

My journey in becoming a floral designer was not one that quickly culminated, although, I can affirm that it was one that began to blossom at an early age.  As a young girl, the beauty of flowers always intrigued me – how each bloom was so unique and special in its own way.  I remember walking along with my mother, foraging and picking wildflowers that grew along the path of my childhood park. I was excited to go home and design little bundles wrapped in twine to proudly display all around.  I later learned that among these whimsical wildflowers were the delicate-natured Queen Anne's Lace, the aromatic Camomile plant,  magestic snapdragons, and classic Shasta Daisies. These have become some of my most treasured flowers to incorporate in my arrangements.  

Growing older, and moving through High School, art continued to play a vital role in my every day life.  I immersed myself in all things art and thrived. Any spare time I had in my schedule, consisted of going to museums, visiting beautiful gardens, vigorously reading art & garden periodicals, and painting.  It was during this time, that I found myself drawn to 19th Century impressionism. This artistic movement allowed me to see flowers in a whole new "light", as "light" was an  element of experimentation during the impressionist era. 

In 1999, after many laborious late nights, and constant creative challenges, I earned my Fine arts degree in studio art from Parsons School of Design in NYC.  This for me was a great accomplishment and a dream come true. 

Although, there was a significant gap of time spent between my art life and my personal life, I managed to always surround myself with art and adorn my home with beautiful flowers. For several years I dedicated my life to raising my two lovely daughters, now 24 and 21.  As my children have grown, so has my love of floral design.  It was at this ideal point in my life, that I decided to focus on art and nature once again, and begin my next artistic journey.  

More than two decades later, with the love, support, and motivation from my husband, and the long awaited miracle birth of our daughter Luna Rose, I enrolled in the New York Institute of Art & Design, and successfully received my Certification as a Floral Designer. 

 It brings me much joy to share my love of art and flowers with my customers.  I look forward to hearing your special story, and creating a memorable piece just for you. 

In all of my custom made arrangements, whether fresh or artificial, vintage or modern - I strive to bring each and every bloom to life and capture the true essence behind your floral inspirations.
